Airy And Pretty Baby Girl’s Nursery Design With Lots Of Handmade Details

Sat, Apr 26, 2014 | Kids room

Kids’ rooms that are filled with personal touches made by friends and family certainly are the best. The little things made with love and care – that’s what make the space really unique and cozy. And that’s why a light and airy, pretty and feminine room in today’s article is one of my personal favorites. Carly, mom of little Ayla, recently moved to North Caroline, away from her family, so she pulled things in from ‘home’. The bedding, the pillow, the name & smile sign, an elephant on a coat hanger, blankets – all of that is handmade, can you believe? Such a lucky little girl to have such a talented and caring family! Enjoy the photos!

Fri, Apr 25, 2014 | DIY Projects

Cosy and original accessory will be a perfect gift for your little fashionista! You’ll need plastic headband, glue gun, yarn pieces and any accessories you’d like to add on top. Cut down your pieces to the length you want. You might need to experiment first to get see how thick it will make your stripe. Dab a bit of glue onto the inside of the headband and quickly add the yarn to the glue and press down. To firmly secure the yarn on, add glue to the opposite side too and secure. Continue wrapping until you reach the length you desire. Cut off the yarn on the inside of the headband and secure with a dab of glue. Continue with the next color and secure with glue. Repeat the same process with the next colors varying the size of the stripes. When you get to the end, simply end on the inside of the headband and secure with more glue. Let’s accessorize!

Funny DIY Sewn Fish Toy

Thu, Apr 24, 2014 | DIY Projects, Toys

It’s a nice craft that you can make for toddlers. First cut out two pieces of fabric into your fish shape. Then get some small scraps for color accents and the tail. Sew the fabric accent colors onto the sides of the fish pieces. For the yellow and black shapes, turn the edges under then sew them on. For the red shape, make a zig-zag stitch around the edge (without folding the edge). Then use the sewing machine on a straight stitch to make the eyes and wavy lines. Place the two sides of the fish together, right side in. Then stitch around the edges, but leave the tail end open. Turn the fish right side out and fill with stuffing of your choice. Now insert the tail piece into the end. Turn the edges of the fish under, then sew across the end of the fish and tail.

Interesting DIY Cardboard Kaleidoscope

Thu, Apr 24, 2014 | DIY Projects, Toys

Don’t say that you don’t like kaleidoscopes! It was a very entertaining toy in everyone’s childhood. Now you can make it with your hands for your kids. You will need 1 thin cardboard envelope or a piece of cardboard, metallic adhesive paper, duct tape, painter or scotch tape, craft knife, ruler, cutting mat, pencil and scissors. To make your triangle tube, you need to start with 3 pieces of cardboard sized 1 x 4 1/3 inches (3 x 11 cm). Mark the dimensions on the cardboard and cut each piece out with knife and ruler. Cut a piece of foil a little larger than your three cardboard pieces combined, about 4 1/3 x 5 inches (11 x 13 cm). Lay the three cardboard pieces on top of the foil and trim away the overhang. The rest of the tutorial is here.

Easy DIY Bunny Ears For Kids

Sat, Apr 19, 2014 | DIY Projects

The simplest things are usually the most interesting ones! Make these cute bunny ears for your kids. You will need white fabric, pink fabric, wire, wire cutters, scissors and sewing machine. Cut out two strips of fabric, one out of each color, 2″ width as long as the fabric goes. To form the bunny ears, cut the edges into a point. Sew the tow pieces of fabric together leaving a 2″ gap at one end. Turn it inside out and press. Insert a wire that expands the length of the band. Curl the wire in at each end so that it’s not pointy. Close the gap by either hand sewing it or with a machine.
