Cute DIY Walnut Boats

Wed, Oct 31, 2012 | DIY Projects | By Irina

This easy and fun tutorial will help you to make some walnut boats to float them down the little streams that appear after thunderstorms or to play during your baby’s bathtime! The supplies that you’ll need are halved and cleaned walnut shells, wooden toothpicks, a white candle, scissors, decorative tape, such as washi tape. First of all, light candle and drip wax about ¼ of the way up the inside of each empty walnut shell. Insert a wooden toothpick into the center of the wax just as soon as you’ve finished filling the shell with wax.  Don’t worry, it’ll stay up.  Let the wax dry completely, 5 minutes or so. Wrap decorative tape around the toothpick mast and cut to shape to form little flags. You’re done!
