Lovely DIY Felt Hot Air Balloon Mobile

Fri, Aug 23, 2013 | DIY Projects, Mobiles | By Irina

There’s something whimsical and dreamy about hot air balloons, isn’t it? If you agree, then you’re gonna love this DIY hot air balloon mobile! Materials are multicolor felt, embroidery needle and floss, scissors, invisible thread, embroidery hoop, polyester fiberfill, cork pieces for the basket. Basically, you need to download and print the template, cut different colors of felt according to the sizes on a template, sew them together and place the bottom piece to finish up. Feel free to adorn your hot air balloons with different triangles and arrows like it’s shown on the pictures below. As soon as you’re done with decorating, cut in half champagne (or wine) cork, with a normal treat and needle attach it to the balloons in 3 different points. Finally, using the invisible thread, attach the top of the balloons to the embroidery hoop. Wish your kid sweet dreams under that mobile!

This Balloon Chair by h220430 is a very dreamy piece made of leather, steel and urethane balloons. The chair aims to recreate the feeling that Pascal, the protagonist of 1950s film Le Ballon Rouge, has when a cluster of balloons carried him over Paris, rescuing him from a group of bullies.
