DIY Blue Felt Knight’s Tunic For A Young Knight

Tue, May 14, 2013 | 5-7, DIY Projects | By julia

If you decided to organize a kid’s birthday party outdoors, you can try to make a knight party. It is certainly more actual for boys, because they like competing and conquering victories so much, but girls can take part in this party as ladies of knights. Such holidays are remembered for a long time because of their original theme and good pastime. Well, how to make a knight’s costume quickly and without much expense? Make a template for a knight’s tunic using a kid’s shirt, then cut out and sew front and back parts of the tunic.  Cut out a cross from some felt. Pin to the front of the tunic and sew around the edges to attach. As the tunic is made of fleece, the edges won’t fray, so you don’t need to hem the bottom, the neckline and armholes. For the belt, cut a long strip of leather to tie around waist in a knot. The knight’s tunic is completed, and I hope you enjoyed the tutorial!
